The alcohol and permits
Do you supply the alcohol?
No. In Saskatchewan the event host buys the alcohol from a Saskatchewan retailer, and we run the bar. Every bar package includes a free buying list based on your guest count, event length and menu, so you know how much to buy. Unopened bottles and sealed cases can sometimes be returned with your receipt, depending on the store's policy.
Do I need a liquor permit for my event in Saskatchewan?
Usually, if your event is at a hall, rented venue, park or tent: the host applies to SLGA for a Special Occasion Permit at least 15 days before the event. Private homes with drinks free to guests, and venues with their own liquor licence, usually do not need one.
Can you get the permit for me?
No. A Special Occasion Permit is issued to the event host, in the host's name, so you apply to SLGA yourself. Our permit guide walks you through it.
What happens to leftover alcohol?
It stays yours, since you bought it. Many Saskatchewan liquor stores take back unopened bottles and sealed cases with your receipt, so check your store's return policy before you buy.
Packages and drinks
What's the difference between your bar packages?
Staff only, from $450, brings our professional bartenders to a bar you have ready. Basic full service, from $750, adds bar setup, cups, ice, mixers, standard garnishes and a bar menu, so you only buy the alcohol. Premium full service, from $1,000, adds a custom cocktail menu planned with you, signature cocktails, premium mixers and elevated garnishes.
Do you make mocktails and zero-proof drinks?
Yes. Our zero-proof drinks, like the strawberry peach soda and the mint refresher, get the same care as our cocktails, and a mocktail service can be added to any package.
How many bartenders will I need?
It depends on your guest count, how long the bar is open and what you are serving. Hannah recommends the number of bartenders with your free estimate. [RATIO: confirm about how many guests one bartender serves]
Can we have a signature cocktail?
Yes. Custom signature cocktails can be added to any package. Premium full service includes several, on a custom menu planned with you.
Cocktail classes
What happens at a cocktail class?
A Bold & Boozy bartender comes to your home, office or venue in Regina and leads your group through making two or three cocktails: shaking, stirring, muddling, balancing and garnishing, with recipes to take home. Choose from five classes, or have one built around your group.
Is there an age limit?
Yes. Every guest who makes or tastes the cocktails must be 19 or older.
Who buys the alcohol for a class?
You do, from a Saskatchewan retailer, using the list we send for your class. We bring the tools, the equipment and the know-how. [CLASS ALCOHOL: confirm, and whether mixers, syrups and garnishes are included]
Still have a question?
We usually reply within 72 hours. Your pricing estimate is free, and sending the form holds nothing.
